Anthropic says it performs at the level of Claude Fable 5.1 on most work, costs about 40% less than Opus 5 to run on typical workloads, and generates output more than 30% faster. It supports adaptive thinking, tool use, computer use and image input.
Anthropic lists Opus 5.5 at $4 per million input tokens and $20 output, 20% below Opus 5’s $5 and $25. Cache reads cost $0.20 and cache writes $5; fast mode costs $8 input and $40 output.
