GPT-6 Luna is OpenAI’s September 22, 2026 lightweight model and the lowest-cost option in the GPT-6 family. It takes text and image input, returns text, and has a 1,050,000-token context window with up to 128,000 output tokens. OpenAI positions it for high-volume tasks with a clear goal: summarizing documents, extracting information and answering quick questions.
OpenAI lists GPT-6 Luna at $0.10 per million input tokens, $0.01 cached and $0.50 output. The table above shows OpenRouter’s recorded rates, which can differ from OpenAI’s direct price. At these rates even a long document read costs a few cents; reasoning effort and tool calls add tokens.
